Jan. 8 MacLean Seminar Series Topic: "The Impact of Health Reform on the Doctor-Patient Relationship"

The MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago is the oldest program in clinical ethics in the world and one of the oldest university bioethics programs in the United States. Since the founding of the MacLean Center and largely through the efforts of its faculty members and fellowship graduates, the study of Clinical Medical Ethics has expanded from the bedside to encompass virtually all aspects of health care.
The MacLean Center hosts an Interdiscliplinary Faculty Seminar Series each year, creating a forum for discussion surrounding health-related topics with colleagues around the University of Chicago campus.
The 2013-2014 series topic is “Ethical Issues in Health Care Reform.” This topic was chosen based on the potential social, political, and ethical questions that may arise with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
On January 8, 2013, Dr. Elbert Huang will be presenting on the topic of “The Impact of Health Reform on the Doctor-Patient Relationship” as a part of the MacLean Center Seminar Series. The talk promises to be rich in content and the discussion will be lively.  The session will run from 12:00-1:30pm. If you are interested, register early as seats will go quickly!
